Market Direct Fleet was conceived in 1992, when our company founder, Adam Wood, had his first exposure to the fleet industry while he worked at a Ford dealership in Salt Lake City, Utah.  At subsequent dealerships, one of which he managed and two of which he owned, Adam successfully offered a purchase and delivery program for local individuals and businesses.

As his operations and experience grew, Adam observed and learned several critical aspects of the business which would later provide the foundation for our unique service.  Some of these include:

  • Observations that the most dramatic depreciation occurs on new vehicles within the first 12 months of ownership, and that depreciated 6-18 month old pre-owned vehicles are consistently available for pricing far below what corporate fleets have paid their new unit purchases down to in the same period of time.
  • Corporations operating vehicle fleets always desire the lowest possible acquisition costs, but often lack the knowledge and time to safely procure pre-owned vehicles that would provide essentially the same life cycles of new vehicles at used vehicle pricing.
  • Having the contacts and an inventory network from which to consistently purchase the “most car” for the “least price”, and to be able to guarantee the highest standards of quality for every vehicle delivered.

After selling his last and largest retail dealership in 2004, Adam has focused his time and resources on developing the first nationwide service catering to corporate clients with small to mid-size fleets. Market Direct Fleet’s client base continues to grow, and now includes several major leasing and fleet management companies, as well as individual corporations throughout the United States.
