FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
| |
Q: I’m
already with (your leasing company
name), how does your service affect
my relationship with them? |
| |
A: It doesn’t. We are not competitors
with your leasing company; rather,
we are vendors to them. We have working
relations with almost all major leasing
companies, and our service does not
change your program, service or terms
with them. If, by chance, you are
with a leasing company with whom we
have not yet transacted business,
simply tell your account representative that
you want to source your cars through
us, and put us in touch with your
representative. The process for us to register
as a vendor to a new leasing company
usually takes 48 hours.

How much
money can I really save my company? |
| |
A ton. The actual amount depends
on three factors:
1. The size of the rebates and incentives
you currently receive from the manufacturers
from which you purchase new vehicles.
We consistently deliver 20-30% savings,
compared to new vehicles after rebates
and incentives, to fleets of up
to 400 total units on vehicles that
are 6-18 months old and have 10-20,000
miles on them.
2. The age and mileage range of
vehicles you wish to purchase. We
can deliver vehicles as old as you
wish and offer savings of up to
80% off of new pricing. We can also
deliver current model year vehicles
with as little as 1,000 miles on
them for 10-15% less than new. You
just tell us what you want.
3. The type and availability of
the vehicles ordered. Trucks, particularly
diesels, are on the low end of the
savings range, while most passenger
cars, SUVs and minivans are on the
high side.
Here’s a typical scenario:
Let’s assume you purchase
60 cars per year, and your new cost
averages $22,000 each, after rebates.
We’ll provide the same type
of vehicle that is 12-18 months
old, is fully serviced and detailed,
has 10-20,000 miles on it, and includes
3 years and 36,000 miles of warranty
for 25% less, dropping your acquisition
cost to $16,500. You save
$5,500 per car times 60 units, or
$330,000 during the course of the
year in acquisition costs.

How can I
know that you will provide us with
safe, dependable, serviced and clean
vehicles? |
| |
Our procurement process is very thorough. In addition to the wisdom and caution gained through 16 years of procurement experience, we have several steps and safeguards to consistently ensure that only the highest quality vehicles are delivered. All vehicles have either qualified as a manufacturer certified unit or been through our through our own extensive service and certification program. Additionally, we pull a Carfax history on each and every unit we provide.
|
| |
What if there
is a problem with a vehicle when we
take delivery? |
| |
There won’t be. But if there is, we’ll take care of it. With millions of dollars in annual sales, we average less than three after delivery repairs per year, which translates to a problem ratio well under .005%, comparing favorably with new unit deliveries. And again, when there is a problem, we’ll stay with it until the problem is resolved. We know that our survival depends on your satisfaction!

| |
How specific can I be regarding vehicle
colors and features when ordering
from you? |
| |
We can almost always accommodate specific
colors and features on any vehicle
order. |
| |
Can I order any brand or model of
vehicle? |
| |
Yes. Most fleet managers are locked
into a single manufacturer (or two),
and have to buy a certain quantity
of units to qualify for their rebates
and incentives. We have no such restrictions.
From a base model Kia to a limited
production Lamborghini, we can deliver.
This offers you much greater flexibility
and freedom to look at driver preferences,
resale values, and your corporate
image. It also creates a unique opportunity
to take advantage of current market
price swings. |
| |
Can you fill orders for volume purchases? |
| |
Yes, with certain limitations. Call with your specific needs for a consultation.
|
| |
Can you deliver to my drivers in different
locations? |
| |
Absolutely, yes. We can deliver vehicles
to almost any location in all 50 states.
|
| |
I like new cars because they are always
under warranty. What do you do about
that? |
| |
For vehicles that we deliver that are still under factory warranty, we offer a supplemental warranty to cover whatever portion of the factory warranty that has already lapsed for as little as $220 per vehicle. We also offer extended warranties with coverage far beyond factory time and mileages parameters at extremely competitive prices. Call us for details.
|
| |
Do you maintain an inventory for us
to choose from? |
| |
No, for two reasons, both of them
having to do with saving you money.
First, we service clients in all 50
states. Transport from one centralized
location would not be cost effective.
We purchase units as close to the
end user as possible. Second, we only
acquire inventory on an as needed
basis. Without the tremendous overhead
of a multi-million dollar inventory,
we save you even more money. |
| |
I
have a large fleet—what can
you do for me? |
| |
We
do have large fleets that order “one-offs”
from us when new vehicles aren’t
available, or are 2-3 months out.
These orders are mostly for wrecked
unit replacements or new hires. If
your rebates and incentives are so
large that the depreciation experienced
by a 12-18-month old vehicle is less
than your current rebates, we probably
aren’t going to be able to save
you much money. It seems as if the
total fleet size cut off point for
us to be able to deliver our targeted
20-30% savings is around 400 units.
|
| |
Do
you offer leasing or fleet management
services? |
| |
No.
We are strictly an acquisition company.
We do, however, have dozens of contacts
and working relationships with companies
specializing in all areas of the fleet
business, including leasing, a full
array of management services, transportation
and remarketing. We would be happy
to refer or introduce you to our friends
at the companies that might best serve
your needs. |
| |
Why
haven’t I heard of this service
before? |
| |
Most leasing companies will write
paper on used vehicles, but they have
not developed resources through which
they can procure them. As such, even
though used units can save you hundreds
of thousands, or even millions of
dollars, your account reps have never
offered this concept to you. Market
Direct Fleet is a relatively new service
with an inception date in early 2005,
and we are working hard to fill this
niche of the market to all leasing
companies across the country.
